The Little Prince
Once upon a time in some land
Lived a little baby prince.
He looked at the world in wonder;
Gave and lived with love so fierce!
But one day our darling prince came
Face-to-face with darkness' force.
It enveloped him in shadows,
Cornered him with words so coarse.
"No one loves you," hissed The Dragon,
"You're unworthy, dumb, alone."
"Please, don't be true!" the boy whimpered,
But the lie had now been sown.
Soon it bore fruit through addictions,
Made worse by the added lies,
And at last through the afflictions
Darkness clouded the child's eyes.
He sat trembling in the corner
Of the dark Depression Cave,
And he cried out for his Father,
Would He come His child to save?
"Daddy, help me!," cried the King's son,
"Why have you forsaken me?"
"Turn around," replied the Father,
"Take my hand and follow me."
"You did not for ev'n one second
Leave my caring, loving sight.
Where you live the kingdom's broken,
And The Dragon blights the light.
Let me hold you while you're crying.
Let me clean and heal your wounds.
Let your Father show the truth now—
From your mind the lies extrude.
I am sorry you went through this!
I am sorry you're in pain!
Yet I promise that the harshest
Blows against you, I sustained.
I was with you in the darkness;
I'll be with you in the light.
Turn around and save your brothers!
For the Kingdom go and fight!"
